We’ve seen it all in homes around Eden and the Sapphire Coast. These are the hot water problems we see come up time and time again:

• No hot water at all: could be something simple like a faulty thermostat, a blown element or a gas supply issue. Either way, we’ll track it down and get it sorted. Most of the time, we’ll have your hot water back the same day

• Leaking hot water tank: Usually means corrosion or a failed pressure relief valve. If the tank’s corroded through, a replacement is generally the smarter move long term.

• Pilot light keeps going out: This is really common in older gas systems. It’s usually a blocked gas line or a ventilation issue. Our gas plumbing team can sort this out safely. 

• Inconsistent temp: One minute it’s scalding, next it’s cold. That usually points to sediment build-up, a worn element or a thermostat on the way out.

• Discoloured or smelly water: Rusty or odd-smelling water from the hot tap? That’s usually a sign of something going on inside the tank. Best to get it looked at before it gets worse.
